Stagecoach Cambus 836 (647 DYE) (N336 HGK) in Cambridge – 18 Jan 2003 503-26

Saturday 18 January 2003 – At the time there were three Park and Ride services operated Stagecoach Cambus in Cambridge. Service 77 (Newmarket Road to Madingley Road) operated by cream and red buses, service 88 (Trumpington) by cream and blue buses and service 99 (Cowley Road to Babraham Road) by cream and green buses.

Northern Counties Palatine bodied Volvo Olympian 836 (647 DYE) carries the cream and blue variant and was seen in St. Andrew’s Street on Park and Ride on service 88. It was new to Selkent (Stagecoach London) as their 336 in September 1995 registered N336 HGK and when seen here carried the registration 647 DYE taken from AEC/Park Royal Routemaster RM1647. Taking fleet number 836 at Cambus it subsequently became 16436 in the Stagecoach corporate fleet numbering scheme. The introduction of the corporate fleet numbering scheme has obvious administrative benefits!
