Bird’s Travel GTW 700Y at King’s Lynn – 30 Dec 1989 109-15

Saturday 30 December 1989 – For a time R R Bird of Hunstanton (Bird’s Travel) operated the ‘Rail Coach Link’ contract on behalf of British Rail that linked the railway statins of King’s Lynn and Peterborough six times a day Monday to Saturday and twice only on Sundays. Actually the first run of the morning towards Peterborough started in Hunstanton and the last trip of the day towards King’s Lynn returned to Hunstanton.

GTW 700Y was seen at King’s Lynn Railway Station prior to working the 1240 departure for Peterborough. It was a Plaxton Paramount 3200 bodied Ford R1115 that had been new in November 1982 (as a Ford demonstrator?).
