Former Yelloway ticket office, Manchester - 24 May 2019 (P1020070)
Friday 24 May 2019 (1352) – The doorway of National House, 36 St Ann Street, Manchester. This building is where Yelloway had a booking and enquiry office.

It was ironic that Yelloway, a truly independent coach operator, occupied a building named National House although the building had no connection whatsoever with the National Bus Company.

Either side of the main entrance were two kiosks. In the era that Yelloway had a presence that on the left (covered with a blue poster) was occupied by a newspaper vendor. That on the right, now part of Frankie and Benny’s restaurant, was the Yelloway office. Nothing more than the glass door from the street. Inside it was a narrow passage with a counter across the whole of the narrow width. Access for the sole booking clerk, who was Mary Robinson for many years, was from the foyer of the main entrance manned by a uniformed commissionaire by the name of Charles.
