Burnley Bus Co (Transdev) 2766 (BF63 HCE) in Manchester - 24 May 2019 (P1020060)

Friday 24 May 2019 (1346) – The Burnley Bus Company (Transdev) 2766 (BF63 HCE), seen in Bridge Street, Manchester working the ‘Witch Way’ service X43 to Burnley. The X43 is an old established Ribble service that still links Manchester with Burnley and Skipton running every 15 minutes to Burnley and every 30 minutes onward to Skipton.

It is a Wright Eclipse Gemini bodied Volvo B9TL new in October 2013 that was photographed from on board 39240 (BW65 DBY), a Wright StreetDeck bodied Volvo B5LH new in February 2016 working on Vantage service V2.

The branding name is derived from the Pendle Witches legend when, in 1612, ten women and two men were accused of murder by witchcraft in the area surrounded by Pendle Hill north of Burnley.
