First Manchester 69256 (BD11 CEY) in Atherton - 24 May 2019 (P1020028)

Friday 24 May 2019 (1244) – First Manchester 69526 (BD11 CEY), a Wright Eclipse Urban bodied Volvo B7RLE new in June 2011, seen passing the Punch Bowl pub in Atherton. It was working the Bolton to Leigh service 582 for which it carries a roofline branding. This service had once been the 82 service of Lancashire United Transport later renumbered 582 in the GMPTE series.

LUT’s head office was based in Howe Bridge mid way between Atherton and Leigh and the company had a booking and enquiry office close to where this photograph was taken. I believe it was somewhere on the right further up the street. In my dealings with the office when at Yelloway it was always referred to as ‘LUT, Punch Bowl, Atherton’.
