(De Lijn contractor) Jos de Reys 153111 (878 P9) in Heist op-den-Berg - 1 Feb 1993

Monday 1 February 1993 (approx. 1250) – In addition to operating its own vehicles De Lijn, the national bus and tramway company of northern Belgium, employs numerous contractors whose vehicles carry six digit fleet numbers – the first four are the De Lijn contract number and the remaining two are the operators own fleet number.

Jos de Reys and Zonen 153111 (878 P 9) was seen in Heist-op-den-Berg when working De Lijn service 16A. It is a Mercedes-Benz O 305 which had been acquired from an unknown operator in Germany in 1990, new circa 1982. The askew Mercedes-Benz badge looks somewhat odd.

De Lijn (Vlaamse Vervoersmaatschappij De Lijn) was created in 1991 from the northern part of NMVB (Nationale Maatschappij van Buurtspoorwegen).
