Beeston’s Coaches B331 ANY at Langley (Bucks) – Sep 1988

September 1988 - Beeston’s Coaches (Hadleigh) Limited B331 ANY had been new to Thomas of Tonypandy, South Wales in July/August 1984. The changeover date from ‘A’ to ‘B’ prefix number plates was 1 August and this coach is said to have been initially been delivered in July as A331 VHB but entry to service was held back until 1 August so that it could carry a ‘B’ plate – and thus look a ‘year younger’. It was a Van Hool Alizee bodied Leyland Tiger which was photographed on a private hire duty at the Ford Motor Company truck building factory at Langley, Buckinghamshire. I had travelled on this coach as a guest of an Ipswich truck dealership to see the production lines and building process.
