DSCF5377 Barton Transport vintage bus at Chilwell - 25 Sep 2016

Sunday 25 September 2016 – In the 1950s the chassis of this circa 1911 Daimler received a replica body to recreate the first vehicle operated by what became Barton Transport. It was seen in the former garage at Chilwell just before being rolled out for display at the Barton Fleet Review event at Chilwell to celebrate the 150th anniversary of the birth of the founder of Barton Transport, Thomas Henry Barton, OBE. I believe the two gentlemen are Tom and James Barton great-great grandsons of Thomas Henry (although I wouldn’t know which is which).
