DSCF5346 Barton Transport 861 (861 HAL), 782 (WAL 782 (CWH 262)) and 784 (XAL 784) at Chilwell - 25 Sep 2016

Sunday 25 September 2016 – Former Barton Transport vehicles on display at Chilwell as part of the Barton Fleet Review event celebrating the 150th anniversary of the birth of the founder of Barton Transport, Thomas Henry Barton, OBE. Following the Review a number of vehicles made the trip to Donington Park to participate at the Showbus Rally.

861 (861 HAL), the unique Northern Counties lowbridge bodied Dennis Loline new in April 1961 (the unusual combination of two low height principles achieved an overall height of 12’ 6”); 782 (WAL 782), a Willowbrook bodied Leyland PS1 (chassis rebuilt in March 1957 from CWH 262 new in March 1948 to Knowles of Bolton); 784 (XAL 784), a Northern Counties bodied AEC Regent V new in September 1957.
