Tantivy Blue 42 and 43 in St. Helier - 4 Sep 1999

Saturday 4 September 1999 – The Duple Dominant bodied Bedford SB5 was operated by most tour companies on the Channel Island of Jersey. Tantivy Blue Coach Tours 42 (J 26678) and 43 (J 26724) are seen parked with a number of other coaches in St. Helier – both were new in 1984 to Blue Coach Tours. Blue Coach Tours was taken over by JMT (1987) Limited, which ran the ‘Jersey bus’ bus service network on the island, in November 1996. JMT also owned the Tantivy Motors business and the two were merged to create Tantivy Blue Coach Tours.

A 2019 update to this photograph. The parking area has now been redeveloped and is home to a number of low rise office buildings occupied by different financial companies. The wall on the right remains as it is a listed building beyond which is now the Liberty Wharf Shopping Centre. The building in the distance stands close to the corner of Castle Street and Esplanade.
