A PALACE OUT OF 1001 NIGHTS - THE WORK OF A SINGLE MAN. Postman by day, architect by night... Ferdinand Cheval walks around 30 km every day on his tours in the countryside. One day in April 1879 he stumbled upon a stone so strange that it awakened a dream. He then devoted 33 years of his life to build alone a dream palace in his garden, inspired by nature, postcards and the first illustrated magazines that he distributed. Have a look also here: The ideal Palace of the Postman Cheval .
