Enchâssé dans les murailles...

...est la "Grande Porte", elle donne accès à la haute ville dans sa partie fortifiée. Au-dessus se trouve le "Logis du Roi", en fait logis du gouverneur de Granville au XVIIIème siècle. C'est une porte à pont-levis, construit entre 1580 et 1640, sa construction était destinée à se protéger contre les attaques ennemies qui arrivaient souvent par la mer. Sur les trois poutres d’origine servant à basculer le pont, deux subsistent aujourd’hui.

EMBEDDED IN THE TOWN WALLS is the "Big Gate", which gives access to the upper town in its fortified part. Above it is the "Logis du Roi", in fact the home of the governor of Granville in the 18th century. It is a drawbridge gateway, built between 1580 and 1640, and was built to protect against enemy attacks, which often came from the sea. Of the three original beams used to swing the bridge, two remain today.

EINGEBETTET IN DIE STADMAUER ist das "Grosse Tor", es ermöglicht den Zugang zur Oberstadt in ihrem befestigten Teil. Darüber befindet sich das "Logis du Roi", eigentlich die Wohnung des Gouverneurs von Granville im 18. Jh. Es handelt sich um ein Tor mit Zugbrücke, das zwischen 1580 und 1640 erbaut wurde. Seine Konstruktion sollte vor feindlichen Angriffen schützen, die oft über das Meer kamen. Von den drei ursprünglichen Balken, die zum Kippen der Brücke dienten, sind heute noch zwei erhalten.
