The Lairig Leacach Bothy

The Lairig Leacach Bothy
I took this picture the morning after we had spent the night in this bothy. The bothy used to be a shelter for shepherds and land workers, but now is open for anyone to use. It is maintained by the Mountain Bothy Association (MBA) and this picture was included in their 2020 calendar.

Well worthy of a calendar Chris. I hope you got a fire on in there as I cannot imagine it to be warm. Some deep snow around and so a well-prepared head on one's shoulder required. Well done.

Keep safe and warm. Herb

Thank you Herb. We carried 10kg of coal with us to stay warm. With the deep snow it was hard going with our backpacks and provisions. We usually manage this walk in 1.5 hours, but this day it took us twice that time.
