Trockenblumen - Dried flowers

Vertrocknete Pfllanzen der Kleinblütigen Königskerze (Verbascum thapsus) ragen fast 2m hoch in den Himmel. Sie sind zweijährige Pflanzen, die nach der Samenbildung im 1. Jahr nur eine Blattrosette bilden und erst im 2. Jahr die bekannten Blütenstände. Die Stängel der Königskerzen-Arten wurden früher in Harz oder Pech getaucht und als Fackeln verwendet. Auch zum Färben wurde die Pflanze eingesetzt.

Dried up plants of the common mullein (Verbascum thapsus) rise almost 2m high into the sky. They are biennial plants, which after seed formation in the 1st year form a rosette of leaves, and only in the 2nd year develop the well-known inflorescences. The stems of mullein species used to be dipped in resin or pitch and used as torches. The plant was also used for dyeing.
