Durch architektonische Elemente gegliedert zeigt das Taufbecken acht Szenen des Lebens und Wirkens Jesu: Verkündigung, Geburt (hier im Bild), Taufe im Jordan, Kreuzigung, Auferstehung, Himmelfahrt, Pfingsten und Jüngestes Gericht.

The picture shows the baptismal font in the central aisle of the Würzburg Kilian Cathedral, which was cast in bronze by Master Eckard from Worms in 1279.
Structured by architectural elements, the baptismal font shows eight scenes of Jesus' life and work: Annunciation, Birth, Baptism in the Jordan, Crucifixion, Resurrection, Ascension, Pentecost and the Last Judgement.
