Alte Bildeiche - Old oak with religious painting - PiP

Die etwa 450 Jahre alte vitale Eiche hat eine Höhe von 19 m und einen Kronendurchmesser von 10 m. Sie steht exponiert im Steigerwald und war für die Gläubigen aus Iphofen eine wichtige Zwischenstation ihrer Wallfahrt nach Vierzehnheiligen (ca. 100 km von Iphofen entfernt). 1897 wurde das große Holzbild am Baum aufgehängt, auf dem die vierzehn Nothelfer dargestellt sind.

The approximately 450-year-old vital oak has a height of 19 metres and a crown diameter of 10 metres. It stands in an exposed position in the Steigerwald forest and was an important stopover for the faithful from Iphofen on their pilgrimage to Vierzehnheiligen (approx. 100 km away). In 1897 the large wooden picture was hung on the tree depicting the fourteen helpers in need.
