27. Januar: Tag des Gedenkens an die Opfer des Nationalsozialismus - Day of Remembrance of the Victims of National Socialism

Zu sehen ist ein Bildausschnitt vom Deportations-Denkmal für die während des 2. Weltkriegs von den Nationalsozialisten deportierten Würzburger Juden. Es erinnert am ehemaligen Standort des renommierten Restaurants Platz'scher Garten an die Deportation von ca. 2000 Würzburger Juden zwischen 1941 und 1943. Die jüdischen Bürger mussten sich für den Transport am Garten versammeln und von dort unter Bewachung zum Verladebahnhof marschieren, von wo sie in Konzentrationslager verschleppt und ermordet wurden.

The photo shows a detail of the monument to the deportation of the Würzburg Jews during the 2nd World War by the Nazis. It reminds on the former site of the prestigious restaurant Platz'scher Garten at the deportation of approximately 2000 Würzburg Jews between 1941 and 1943. The Jewish citizens had to assemble at the garden nearby the restaurant and march under guard to the loading station, from where they were deported to concentration camps, where they were murdered.
