People At Car Shows ...

Makes me wonder if anyone has snapped me whilst I've been taking photos - lol.

Looks like he's thinking ... I remember when I had one of these!

Now then, haven't we all done this at some point whilst going around a car show? For me, it was back in the days when I used to go to a lot of custom and hot rod shows ... usually to see if they'd fitted a chromed JAG IRS underneath, which tended to be almost ubiquitous back then!

1956 Chevrolet Corvette (C1) - NAS 252

Just another detail shot on that Corvette from earlier ... I'm afraid this might be the last one of it from this show.

They say you can have too much of a good thing so just let me know when you're getting tired of looking at this gorgeous Vette!

The inscription on the registration plate kind of says it all really!

Sticking with the American theme, here's a shot of the dashboard on Howard Dawson's lovely 1956 Corvette.

1970 Ford Mustang - ABW 207H

Finally managed to find a half decent shot of the beautiful green Mustang I posted detail shots of earlier in this album.

Thought it was about time to add some more American muscle to this photostream!

1968 Daimler V8 250 - JDC 145F

15 Jun 2013 4 2 587
Produced from 1967 to 1969 it was really a slight face-lift and re-labelling of the 2.5 V8 saloon and differed in relatively small details. This one was first registered in April 1968.

The BMC ADO16 was a family of economical small cars built by the British Motor Corporation (BMC) and, later, British Leyland. It was launched in 1962 and for most of the next decade the ADO16 was consistently the UK's best-selling car. The MG 1300, as seen here, is one of the many different models produced around that design during that time. Source: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/BMC_ADO16

1970 Wolseley Six - FYE 931J

Really enjoyed seeing this old Wolseley, as I remember the father of a childhood friend having one of these back in the Seventies. Long since lost touch with the Cambridge family and I would guess the father, Brendan, may not still be alive, but happy memories all the same!

Snowglobe In Space ...

15 Dec 2014 11 8 930
A 'nearly ran' for the recent Sunday Challenge in which we were asked to all work with the same photograph. The original image was entitled simply Snowman Christmas and was created by UNKWinc over on Deviant Art . A copy of their image can be found in the Notes on the top left-hand corner of my interpretation.

Snowglobe On Ice ...

An unusual week for those involved with The Sunday Challenge : quite possibly the maddest, baddest, craziest, and friendliest group on ipernity. Instead of being given a theme and then having to take a photograph to accompany it we were given an image produced by someone else and told to "do your magic however you see fit" . That said, it wasn't a challenge intended to just see who could work the old sliders best. For those not involved with TSC and to give credit to the person who produced the initial image I've inserted a copy of it in the Notes: top right-hand corner. Entitled simply Snowman Christmas it was created by UNKWinc over on Deviant Art . Initially I thought of using it as the basis for some sort of Christmas card. Then I thought of an orb, but I felt that would perhaps lose too much of the original image, before settling on the idea of trying to create a snowglobe. EDIT: 15/12/2014: I've been asked by a couple of folks how I produced this image so I've cobbled together an article, which I think gives enough information for anyone who isn't practised in working with layers etc to have a go at making their own snowglobe: The Making Of A Snowglobe On Ice …

Austin Healey ...

Here's another that was a nearly ran for a Sunday Challenge back when the theme was: Car Badge or Logo: Macro(ish) . Not that different from the one I actually entered, but I thought as that was about 6 months ago someone might appreciate seeing this one now.

Something For The Weekend ...

19 Jun 2013 2 3 645
Way back before I joined The Sunday Challenge I used to upload a photo on a Friday entitled Something For The Weekend . Two reasons that I did it really: to wish my contacts a happy weekend and to demonstrate that sometimes I do indeed take photos of things that don't have wheels and/or an engine. Nowadays, what with me being a regular participant in TSC I don't feel the need, but I came across this processed, but unused shot, in the archives which I thought was worth sharing for old times sake. So, whatever you're doing this weekend ... enjoy!

Two Into One ...

This was actually created, but not used for The Sunday Challenge , which had the theme of collage , and comprises two images I'd produced for an earlier challenge entitled shadows .

Bowled Over ...

Another from the series of shots I took for The Sunday Challenge , which had the theme of At The Market , but which also extended to cover shop displays. Like the shot I entered at the time entitled Jealous Heart this bowl was seen and photographed in Origins on the High Street, which has loads of stunning and interesting items of homeware. If you're ever in Northallerton it is well worth popping in for a look around or check out their website: www.originshome.co.uk
