A last walk under the arcades of Bergamo before we leave for home.
Every journey has an end, but the memory is everlasting.
This much is certain; travel is always good for you. Voltaire
Therefore, let us go on a new journey and keep it with Augustine :
The world is a book and those who do not travel read only one page." .

The Church of Santo Spirito is a Catholic church in Bergamo. Built in the 16th century in Renaissance style on the predecessor building of 1311 as part of an adjoining monastery , the monastery of Santo Spirito was founded in 1311, the community had the particularity of a "double cenobbio" which included both male and female monks, originally known as "Brothers of the Holy Spirit".
Before the end of the 14th century, the church was enlarged and rebuilt with three naves and it contains important works of art as well as a very rich library, full of texts in Latin, Hebrew and Greek with theological insights and humanistic culture.
The stylized dove representing the Holy Spirit flows down the wall and fills the church interior

There are still some seats here, so the following saying fits:
Nature created the buttocks for rest,
because animals can stand without getting tired,
but man needs his seat.
Quote from Aristotle

The Church of St. Maria delle Grazie
Documents show that in 1422 the nobleman Pietro Ondei decided to donate a piece of land outside the city walls of Bergamo to St Bernard of Siena so that he could build a monastery. The saint had settled in Bergamo and preached devotion to Saint Jesus and peace between the hostile parties within the city.
The beautiful cathedral of Santa Maria Immacolata delle Grazie is located in the heart of the lower town (Città Bassa) of Bergamo
The church, in neoclassical style, has the shape of a Greek cross; the drum, divided into a peristyle with sixteen columns, is surmounted by the large dome.
Inside there are various artistic frescoes and figures to admire.

The Piazza Vecchia in a special light
The architect Le Corbusier is said to have described Piazza Vecchia as one of the most beautiful squares in the world: And if someone changes a stone in the square , he commits a crime. Today, the entire historic center of Bergamo is a protected monument.

The 16th-century Florentine city walls alone, which surround almost the entire old town, are worth seeing in their own right; at their highest points, you have a fantastic view of medieval Bergamo.

Windmills of Medulin
The history of these mills began in 1872 with the arrival of the Pošić brothers, who had the idea to build two windmills on the seashore. The two windmills were the only ones of their kind in the Mediterranean area and they attracted grain traders from all over the world. In Medulin they began to grind different types of grain.

INUKSHUK Monument with Rest Benches
The Inukshuk is an Inuit monument ,a striking stone monument,
Inukshuks are symbols from the North Polar region , especially the Inuit people of northern Canada use them.
The name Inukshuk means "similar to a human being". Each Inukshuk is unique in its shape, as it was carved out of the rocks that were near the respective place.
Inukshuks are used to mark a place for navigation or to mark a place. The arms and feet determined the direction and showed the right way for navigation.
I wish you all that you can navigate the right way in the new week and in the new year.
