On the way north a view to a special river The Zrmanja a karst river in the south of Croatia. The Zrmanja flows through a karst area. After a drive of several hours to the north there is now a visit to the Plitvice Lakes National Park.

Plitvice Lakes National Park, very impressive were the enormous colours we encountered here.

On the way in the Plitvice Lakes Park The Plitvice Lakes National Park is the largest national park in Croatia and the oldest national park in South Eastern Europe. It was founded in 1949 and is located in the hilly karst region of Central Croatia near the borders to Bosnia and Herzegovina.

One of the highest waterfalls is the large waterfall (Veliki slap Höhe 78 Meter) in the lowest part of the lakes, over which the Plitvica River flows. The large waterfall is also the largest waterfall in Croatia.
