Madagascar, Two Lemurs in a "Sun Worship" Pose

Madagascar, Two Lemurs in a "Sun Worship" Pose
The ring-tailed lemurs (Lemur catta) often sit in this pose, with their limbs spread wide, to bask in the sun and warm their belly fur.
Their long tails, with 13 alternating black and white stripes, are used for balance, communication, and territorial marking.
These lemurs spend up to 50% of their time on the ground, more than any other lemur species.
They live in groups called "troops" or "soldiers," which are usually dominated by females.
