The lighthouse was built in 1822 during the British protectorate over the Ionian Islands It displays British colonial architecture through its conical tower and adjoining rooms that reflect the building style of that era.
The light operates automatically with electrical systems since 1992, emitting white signals every six seconds. Good views of the strait and surrounding waters are available.
