A tiny springtail, possibly Parisotoma notabilis, about 0.4mm in length taken at 5x magnification. Shrewsbury, Shropshire, November 2020. Notice the furca, the tuning fork shaped organ that allows springtails to spring, protruding out from the end of the abdomen. The large, dark object in the background is actually the larva of a soldier fly.
