A Woundwort Shieldbug (Eysarcoris venustissimus) in my garden. This tiny specimen was sitting on a plastic compost sack, hence the unusual background. There is a breeding colony of these delightful little insects in my garden now, created by simply allowing their main food plant, Hedge Woundwort (Stachys sylvatica) to grow in a few places around the garden.
