Studied at St Petersburg Conservatory and graduated in 1891 , and then sang at opera houses in Rostov,Kharkiv and Tbilisi until 1895.Debut at the Mariinsky in 1896 and then left for Moscow to join Zimin’s Opera where he was principal tenor until 1914 . He created Sadko in “‘Sadko” by Rimsky Korsakoff at Moscow in 1898. Ivan ‘The Tsars Bride” By Rimsky Korskoff 1899 Moscoe and Tsarevich Cvidon “The tale of Tsar Sultan” by Rimsky Korsakoff Moscow 1900.Roles included Vasiliy “Khovanshchina” Mussorgsky and Grigoriy “Boris Godunov” Mussorgsky
