Another amazing Icelandic landscape Gudrun................I love the light, and the colours of the grasses in the foreground.

The mist shrouded mountains in the background look really beautiful under the gorgeous blue of the sky. The deep blue of the sea is gorgeous.

The PiP is completely different...........the seas look quite stormy with the waves crashing into the shore near the lighthouse. However, it has a beauty all of its own.

Wie schön, ich lese gerade gerade das Buch „ Wo die wilden Grauen wohnen“ ein Buch über die Strahlen Frauen Islands. Hoffentlich kommen noch weiter Bilder.

Ja, die Isländerinnen sind was Besonderes! Präsidentin, Regierungschefin und alle möglichen anderen Führungspositionen sind weiblich:-) Die mitochondrische DNA der Isländer ist stark keltisch geprägt, weil die Wikinger früher ihre Frauen in Irland etc. geraubt haben. Wer das überlebt hat, hat starke Gene weitergegeben...

Ich habe noch viele Fotos und werde meine Island-Alben immer wieder mal ergänzen.

The foreground grass looks flattened, wet and windblown, but the landscape is very dramatic. Looking at the snow covered peaks certainly makes me feel cooler. ;-)

Thanks a lot, George! I think the colour doesn't come from dryness (there had been a lot of rain) but from the cold.
