Interessant und bemerkenswert welche 'Bauwerke' die Natur so zustande bringt und wie man auch hier sieht, stört eigentlich nur die Menschheit...

Wie unbedeutend der Mensch im Grunde genommen doch ist, zeigen solche Bilder. Entwicklungsgeschichtlich nicht mehr als eine kurze Episode in einem dicken Buch voller Wunder. Die sogenannt Krone der Schöpfung will sich so etwas natürlich nicht gern eingestehen; vielleicht wird ihre größte Leistung sein, dass sie sich selbst von der Bildfläche entfernt. Und der Natur wieder sich selbst überläßt, ihre Wunden leckt und ungestört vor sich hin existiert !

Danke vielmals, Ulrich! Wie wahr, die Menschheit ist fleißig dabei, den Ast, auf dem sie sitzt, abzusägen. Ich denke, die Erde käme sehr gut ohne uns aus...

Yes, I remember the footpaths in the Lakes or the Dales- either a river of stones or a boggy mess... And the paths they had repaired were stony and not pleasant to walk on.

More fascinating and beautifully detailed images of the geological make-up of the Icelandic landscape. Something you can only guess at unless you've actually been there.

I really like both of these, but the main image with the lovely still water is just gorgeous.

I'm pretty sure people don't damage the vegetation deliberately, they probably just don't understand how precious it is (at least I hope that is the case).

Justin Bieber hasn't been helpful, he made a video where he dances on such moss covered lava- he shouldn't have been allowed to film that in the first place...

Über die zerstörischer Einfluss der sogenanten intelligente Homo Sapiens kann man bisweilen ja viele, viele Bücher schreiben und lesen.Wie einige ja schon geschrieben haben, die Natur käme ohne die menschen gut klar. Vor eine Wochen waren wir im Gasometer Die zerbrechliche Erde, sehr zu empfehlen.

Besten Dank, Ko! Von der Gasometer-Ausstellung habe ich gehört, hoffentlich besuchen die viele und nehmen sich das zu Herzen! Die meisten meinen leider immer noch, die "Reichen", die "Konzerne" und generell die anderen sollen zuerst mal anfangen, sich anders zu benehmen....

Thanks a lot, Esther! icelandair has covenient connections to and from the East Coast and they even offer several days of stopover in Iceland if you fly on to other destinations.

A wonderful and isolated place, once discovered and photographed, becomes a popular tourist area and the place is no longer so wonderful and isolated. Then action is required, urgently, to prevent further deterioration. In this case the necessary action has been taken, We are all guilty in one way or another, the world is shrinking and travel is once again on the cards after 2.5 years of isolation. Yet who can blame tourists when they see stunning photos like this, Gudrun? Iceland remains on my bucket list.

Thank you so much, Amelia! Actually, this specific place isn't overvisited because it takes a long day in a high clearance 4x4 to reach it, places on the ring road suffer much worse. But it just shows how vulnerable the vegetation is!
