It's a very handsome building Gudrun, and enhanced even more by the tree shadows.

I like the colours here, Gudrun. Are there certain rules that apply to colour choices in world heritage sites in Germany? Here there is advice about Heritage Colours on certain buildings.

When I wanted to instal new windows I had to have a specialist come in who took samples from windows in the house to determine the original colour (a lovely brick red). This colour is now mandatory if someone paints their windows.

Herzlichen Dank, Percy! Es war erst mein zweiter Ausflug und es hat sich viel getan seit dem ersten. Nächstes Jahr wird das Meeresmuseum nach Sanierung wiedereröffnet...

Stralsund hat sich wirklich ganz toll entwickelt. Wir waren zum ersten Mal 1996 dort, als noch sehr, sehr viel Sanierungsbedarf vorhanden war. Seitdem ist die Stadt immer schöner geworden, bei jedem Besuch waren einige der historischen Häuser mehr saniert.

Danke vielmals, Wiebke! Das kann ich mir ungefähr vorstellen, wie es 1996 ausgesehen haben muss... Bei meinem ersten Besuch 2011 war noch so einiges nicht saniert und selbst dieses Jahr gab es noch vereinzelt Häuser, die es dringend nötig gehabt hätten. Aber die 2011 noch heruntergekommene Milchbar am Neuen Markt war diesmal ein schmuckes Haus mit einem guten Italiener drin:-)
