Eyjafjallajökull. This is probably the only part of the Icelandic language that I can pronounce and understand. I wonder why that is? ;-))

One can totally understand the essentials of having an experienced guide and a suitable vehicle in this area.

It was fun! I have always wanted to go there but it's definitely better to take an organized tour in this sort of terrain if you aren't very experienced.

Das glaube ich dir gern. Beides. Da muss ich erst noch zu geld kommen oder kreativ werden, wie ich es billiger hinbekommen könnte ;-))

Beim Transport kann man eine günstigere Fluggesellschaft als Icelandair nehmen, die haben dann aber meist bescheuerte Zeiten. Statt Hotels Pensionen oder Zelt für ganz Hartgesottene, wenn einem das Nasswerden und Frieren nichts ausmacht;-) Statt Essengehen Supermarkt und Suppe, Burger, Hotdogs an der Tanke, bist aber meist auch mit fast 20 Euro dabei....
Und Transport im Land brauchste auch, öffentliche Busse fahren leider kaum noch Hochlandpisten.

Besten Dank, bk! Auch bei den Isländern selber höchst beliebt, da gibt's einige mehrtägige Wandertouren vom Tal aus. Touris müssen da öfter mal gerettet werden.
