Rousham- William Kent's masterpiece
When he designed the landscape gardens at Rousham, William Kent had a folly built in a field across the river. The statue of the Lion and Horse is by Peter Scheemakers (1691-1781). oxfordgardendesign.co.uk/the-gardens-at-rousham
In the first note a wide angle view of the same scene across the bowling green.

In the second note the (bad) copy of the classic Dying Gladiator on the Praeneste Terrace.
