The Sunday Challenge (TSC): 'back to basics'
Use a non-zoom lens, ISO100, and lets see something SOOC, no crop, no post pro, just like in the old days of film.

This is a 20,1 MB RAW file (digital negative) shot with my 100mm prime. Settings were fully manual except white balance (AWB). I used a tripod and focussed manually with the help of live view. The file is completely untouched, I just transferred it from camera to hard drive with EOS Utitlty.

Inset/below is the JPG (shot in tandem with the RAW), picture style "automatic", the differences to RAW show what Canon does in camera.

I do JPEG + RAW and use the JPEG if the light is easy, and the RAW when I need to push the lowlights or contrast a lot

I found myself hardly using the jpgs at all, because I took so many photos in low light conditions, so I dropped them.

Thank you so much, Wendi! Just refraction due to the shape of the glass:-)

Thanks a lot, Paul! The inset and the one below are identical, I just put it there for people who don't like to/ cannot look at notes. As far as I know notes cannot be accessed from mobile devices.
