Aldeyjarfoss Panorama

eigentlich muss man die Bilder alle auf schwarzem Hintergrund ansehen. Unkontrollierte Wildheit, wunderbar! Im Panorama kommt das noch viel besser zur geltung als im Folgenden.

Merci vielmal, Lutz! Das war mein Lieblings-Wasserfall in Island, ich hätte sehr gerne viel länger als nur 30-40 Minuten dort gehabt... Leider mit Miet-PKW nicht mehr erreichbar, da sind schon ein paar Kilometer Piste davor und die Strafen sind drakonisch, wenn sie Dich ohne 4x4-Jeep erwischen...

Das ist ja noch besser als das Herangezoomte! :):)

Danke Cornelia, da sieht man die Dimensionen besser. Das ist ein Pano aus 11 Hochkantfotos, Kamera Canon 6D mit Kitobjektiv 24-105/4,0. Bei Panos frisst Lightroom leider die Kameradaten...
Wenn Du auf den Pfeil bei Aktionen (rechts unter dem Bildstreifen) klickst, kannst Du die EXIF detailliert sehen und auch Bilder in größerer Größe anschauen.

Danke, Berny! Wir hatten morgens im Norden schönes Wetter, gegen Süden zog es sich immer weiter zu und am Ende der Piste regnete es- leider auch noch am nächsten Tag in Landmannalaugar.
Ihr seid offensichtlich genau andersrum gefahren- von Süd nach Nord.

Naja, wir sind im Uhrzeigersinn bzw. zick-zack gefahren. Erste Hochlandroute rauf, dann die Westküste bzw. -fjorde bis Dupjavik, 2. Hochlandroute runter, 3. rauf und dann Ostfjorde und Südküste zurück.......

So ähnlich war's bei uns auch- zuerst der Westen und dann die großen Hochlandpisten zickzack:-)

I depends very much on how much time you want to spend - just driving round the ring road and seeing the main sights can be done in a week. You can easily spend a lot more time, though!
If you rent a car, you are not allowed on any road with an F in its name (highland roads), for that you'll need to rent a 4x4 Jeep. You can bring your own car if you take the Norröna ferry from Hirtshals- that's 3 days one way!
We had an organized tour of full 14 days plus 3 days in Reykjavik and I would have liked to stay longer in most places.

Enjoyed your images, some superb scenery to view; a colleague had a great collection of scenic landscapes of Iceland, he was involved in design of a shopping mall in Reykjavik so had quite a few visits.

Thanks a lot, Tom! The little brother comes form the middle of the rocks:-) This is typical for lava flows, they have cavities and act as a perfect water filter- the water coming out is absolutly pure.

Yes, it is also our thumb rule when hiking: everything sparkling from the rock is drinkable. And yes, in Norway we drank even from creeks, lakes and rivers.

And well... seeing it in full size also revealed interesting basalt pipes and other structures.

Drinking from rivers is usually safe if there is no cattle upstream. Norway doesn't have such a big problem with giardia as NZ has.

Basalt is everywhere in Iceland- it's more or less made of the stuff and the mantle plume has an endless supply of it;-)

Großen Dank, Udo! Der Wasserfall ist an einer 4x4-Piste, da ist es nicht so überlaufen:-) Island ist ein Reiseland, in das es einen immer wieder zurückzieht (wenn man mit dem Wetter klarkommt;-)

A magnificent panorama Gudrun........perfectly done! I love the sky and the cloud formations and the movement and power of the water. The rocky landscape is just amazing!

A most beautiful panorama here Gudrum. 11 verticals is going some for a panorama, you could probably make a big wall mural/photo with that original size. In any case, it has worked splendidly, bringing us within touching range of the water with full screen, not quite filling my two 27" screens at once. I see you have the mandatory figure, for scale too. I want to be there!

Thank you so much, Herb! A panorama was the only way to get the whole scene. From the viewpoint you are too near for a single shot and further up rocks obscure the view.
