As the clock runs down the last few minutes of Black History Month, here's my small hat tip to one of my all-time favorite Jazz flautists: the one and only James W. Newton (b.1953). The Greek Hellenistic statue is "Old Market Woman" from 11th Century, B.C. (I flipped her around, though.) From a MacMillan Art History book published in 1937. The painting is Henri Matisse's "Brook With Aloes" (1907), photographed in (or around) 1954. Shown smaller than the original completed size of 3600 X 6000 pixels.
