Hello Maurice I'm pleased you like it , I was using the Helios 44-2 again it would probably been wide open at f2 it's a 58mm prime lens and of course manual focus all of my recent photos with no lens information have been taken with it, I'm enjoying using it I like the slightly old fashioned feel the images have. I was given a non working Zenit E camera some years ago and never thought about the lens but recently looked in to the lens and found out they are very popular again because if you have a mirror less camera you just need an adaptor to change from m42 to micro 4/3, it's thought to be the most produced lens ever you can get a good one for £40/50 if you saw a cheap one with fungus it's very easy to take the optics out and clean them Retro Foto House have a very good video. The first 2 numbers of the serial number are the year it was made mine was 1973 the earlier ones like mine have an additional preset focus ring which is useful because you can focus at f2 and then close down without looking at it
