This raised a smile - whenever I go to museums, I try to see if "I have one of those" applies.
Yes, I spotted a few small items [rule book etc] - normally, these items are tools ...

For a change, something larger - I have driven one of those, specifically the prototype MetroCars 4001 / 4002 - at the Middle Engine Lane test track back in 1978/79, when I worked at the PTE for a while. [running up milage, and testing the auto-brakes at red lights - trying to see how far I could get the cars past the trips ... answer, not very far, even at speed ...

During 2025 much of the original T&WPTE Metro fleet has been scrapped as a consequence of their replacement by the new Stadler fleet.
.
However, I'm very pleased to say that 4001 has been saved for posterity.
It was withdrawn on 18April2021, left Gosforth by rail 10thSept2025, hauled by 4056+4069, Now preserved at North Tyneside Steam Railway - at Middle Engine Lane ie the site of the Metro Test Track.
Sadly the other "prototype / test " unit, 4002, was among the list of scrapped units.
