Image captured at dusk, this was edited by a combination of zoomed & cropped in camera.

The "Northern Spire" was formally opened to traffic on 28th August 2018, after well over a decade in gestation [design, planning and fabrication]. Named as a result of a public poll in 2017.
It carries the A1231 over the River Wear, between Pallion and Castleton to the west of Sunderland.
The form consists of a two span cable-stayed structure and is 1102 ft [336m] in length.
The central A-frame - The "Spire" - was fabricated in Ghent [Belgium], and was raised in February 2017; it is 344 ft [105m] in height.
The eye-catching white structure is floodlit at night.
