The Jacobite

Having stepped off the sleeper at Fort William you are faced with the steam service to Mallaig waiting on the opposite platform. It must have been very close to departure as the crowds around the locomotive have finally dispersed a little and I was able to grab a quick view of the Black 5 at the head. The whole operation seemd to me to be more of a Harry Potter circus than a rail service. Travelling on the following diesel service was significantly cheaper and probably provided a better view.
