Higher Heights Holes kiln

Higher Heights Holes kiln
This small draw kiln sits in a remote spot on the edge of Malham Moor in Threshfield, North Yorkshire. At some time there has been a certain amount of conservation work undertaken on the structure. The quarry behind is very small and it is probable that the kiln was only used a few times to provide lime for use on the adjacent pasture.

How much was flooding an issue with these kilns which are built into gullies?
