Fungi, Lichen & Slime Molds 1
Eye-catcher
Not sure when I took this photo, but it was with my old Olympus C750 UZ camera, when the date wasn't working. Found at Bebo Grove, Fish Creek Park. LOL, at least I got one edge reasonably sharp!

Mushroom bokeh
One of the many mushrooms I discovered towards the end of September 2008. I just thought the bokeh and light were quite pretty in this image. Seen at Brown-Lowery Provincial Park.

On the rocks
This bright orange Lichen is one of my favourite kinds and this patch was growing on a rather nice, dark brown, boulder. Seen on a hike south of Calgary, west of Longview, on the Kananaskis border.

The Morel of the story is ...
... "good things come to those who wait", LOL! I was ecstatic today when we came across two locations where Morel mushrooms were growing! One grouping was out at Benchlands, north west of the city and past Cochrane, where we were exploring meadows and forest for birds, wildflowers, insects and fungi. This particular Morel (Yellow Morel - thanks, Doug) was growing by itself in North Glenmore Park. It has seemed SO long since there were any fungi around, and finally, today .... yeah!

Mushroom!!!
Thanks to friend, Doug, I was able to photograph a mushroom this morning, LOL! He found this very small (maybe an inch diameter?) growing from this small broken-off branch. Will post a photo of the really neat underside another day (if I remember!). Found in north Weaselhead. Thanks, Doug!

They're HERE!
This lovely fungus was growing on someone's property that I went to help botanize with a handful of friends a good part of today. Rather a fine specimen - thanks, Doug!
Caught in sunlight
One of the welcome fungi that we saw three days ago, when we went to botanize someone's property south of the city, near Millarville. We have waited so many months for the first sight of fungi growing, and we were lucky to find several that day.
Little fungus cup
The light was shining through parts of this little fungus cup that was growing on someone's forested acreage, south of the city, that a handful of us went to botanize a few days ago. Love the grainy texture. As usual, I don't know any IDs, so if anyone is able to let me know, that would be great. Thanks!
In the darkness of the forest
An absolutely useless photo as far as being to identify these mushrooms is concerned, but I just liked the sheen and sparkle of the two caps against the dark. Seen in the forest on someone's acreage, south of the city and near Millarville.
