Seeing stars

A strange fruit, but one with such an interesting shape. They certainly don't grow up here - I bought this one from Safeway recently.

All in a morning's walk

We came across this large, dead Goldfish along the edge of a pond at Pearce Estate this morning. As usual when I come across something that has died, I take a photo of it so that it is not forgotten. The Greenbottle flies had already found it.

Up, up and away

Not sure what these things are called (hang-glider?), but this one "flew" over us on a walk in north Weaselhead yesterday. Myself, I prefer my feet firmly planted on solid ground, LOL.

Calgary Tower

The Calgary Tower used to be the tallest building in the city but office blocks have now overtaken it. This view was from the Erlton/Roxborough Natural Area.

Will you play with me?

This dog came along the path towards us this afternoon with his owner who was on her bike. He decided that if he lay down with a stick and looked at us with THESE eyes, we would for sure play with him - which of course we did! Beautiful expression - who could resist? He must have had a quick dip in the river!

Sammy

After a delicious lunch at a friend's house today, I took a few photos of her two beloved dogs. This very relaxed little guy is Sammy!

This is my friend, Joan's, other pet, a gal named Missy. Two very cute dogs. Thanks so much, Joan, for the delicious lunch yesterday - so much enjoyed by all of us!

Just a reminder, everyone, that October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. My heart goes out to anyone who is battling this disease, and their families and friends! Thank you, fd, for enabling me to make this poster.

Tiny feather

This was such a small, perfect little feather, lying on the mud flats at Langdon Reservoir, east of the city. There were thousands and thousands of shorebirds there this afternoon, so I would guess that this feather belongs to one of them.
