The beginning of fall

Took this photo at Bow Lake, along Highway 93 (Icefields Parkway, Banff National Park, Alberta, Canada), on 11 September 2013. This time, unlike my other posted shots, I was facing away from the lake and focussing on the very barren upper parts of the mountains, above the tree line. The main highway, Highway 93 (Icefields Parkway) runs out of sight between the short coniferous trees and the much taller ones. Fall colours are beginning to take over from the summer greens - and soon everywhere will turn to white.
