Just too cute - from the archives

Just too cute - from the archives
Came across this old photo, taken on 18 March 2012, when I was backing up a few photo folders yesterday. Just couldn't resist posting it - I love that expression! Lots of us were so privileged to be able to visit this Northern Hawk Owl, its mate and, eventually, its owlet. Photographed NW of Calgary, an hour and a half's drive from home.

, , , and 3 other people have particularly liked this photo

This is one of my favourite photos of the owlet, previously posted, taken on its very first day out of the nest.

Haha ... such piercing eyes ... if I was its prey, they would scare my to death first ... excellent captures Anne ... both well taken with great feather details ...

Ha, yesterday was brutal ... we equaled a temp record at 34C with 44C humidex ... today we will hit 31C with 42C humidex .... cannot wait for the cooler days of Autumn ... good thing starting Thurs ... for the following week, it will range between 13-23C ... yeah!!

A wonderful photo, Anne. I remember this photo well, it was saved as one of my favorites from Flickr.

Hi, Ken - you are probably referring to a previously posted shot that was taken at the same time, but the owl was turning its head the other way : ) I decided that after all, I prefer this one, so thought I'd post it. Lol, you've got a great memory!
