Food for her babies

Food for her babies
This female Mountain Bluebird flew down into the grass fairly near her nest box and perched on a twisted loop of barbed-wire, giving me a different kind of background for a photo. Seen from the front, you don't see any of her beautiful blue feathers. I have so many photos of these beautiful birds - and I am trying to space them out : ) Taken SW of Calgary on 15 June 2013.

Fine and lovely chest feather details Anne ... without these dull colours, these birds would not survive ... some are so camouflaged, they are so difficult to see in the wild when they nest!! Excellent capture of this one!!
