Mmmmmmmmmmmm....That's the Spot!
I still have pictures to share from the Pirate's Parrot Show that Steve and I saw back in July!
Chris Biro is showing how trusting this bird is by laying it on its back in his hand. Not only does this beautiful Blue & Gold macaw trust Chris, he's in absolute bliss, closing his eyes in pleasure as Chris gently itches the back of its head, cradling it in support. Bird's feathers grow out of hard sheath casings and they really itch. They have a hard time reaching the feathers on their heads, so gentle scratching and a bit of careful help breaking the feathers out is something parrots really love, as this bird shows perfectly! :)
