An Unknown National Costume

This is a tintype purchased in Branford, Connecticut. Nearby is the city of New Haven which welcomed many immigrants around the turn of the last century. Possibly, this couple is from Italy, or perhaps Poland, or another eastern European country and have dressed in their national costume to pose for their picture.
They are a striking couple. He reminds me a little of Harrison Ford. She has a particularly beautiful face.

Interesting costumes from head to toe. Excellent representation of the theme in a way I had not considered. I would guess Italian.

Looking at the clothing my impression was also Italian - which would be very likely given the large, local Italian immigrant population.
