In February 2022, our chalk drawing was inspired by Violet Oakley's "Weavers of New Hope" (1920), a painting featuring weaver Ethel Davenport, in the collection of the Everhart Museum in Scranton.
Ethel is very trendy now; with her Wordle, a Valentine, a Superbowl ticket, an Olympic medal, and a box of Girl Scout cookies, she catches at least five of the cultural events of February 2022.

Pandemic chalk: Blue Hex Tiles 4

In January, I made a walkway of blue hex tiles, based partly on traditional designs, and partly just doodled. This was as big as it got before a rainstorm came.

Pandemic chalk: Sarcophagus 15

In mid-December, long after its Halloween completion, the chalk sarcophagus had endured some rain and much sun, but was still quite visible.

We joined an outdoor chalk event in our neighborhood, just to doodle on different pavement for a change.
