1988 and 2012

So, a Facebook friend posted the smaller photo, taken of me c1988, during my first year of grad school. I had all the same accessories, and the same wool turtleneck, still, so I restaged the photo and took it again, 24 years later.

The cards I made this year, for Fathers Day. Original image of William Bulkeley Hughes (a Welsh MP), from the National Library of Wales on Flickr Commons (see below). Cards are made with recycled cereal boxes. The paper on the lower part of each panel is made with National Geographics and citrasolv.
Receptacle by Joyce Dallal 1

"Receptacle" is a sculpture by Joyce Dallal, a container in the shape of a giant baby doll, filled with donated broken toys which cannot otherwise be recycled or donated. It's now on view at the Manhattan Beach Cultural Arts Center, and the gallery is accepting more toy donations for the work. We brought in a box today. That's my son with one of the very nice women at the gallery.

This isn't even all the chalked squares at the end of the day--some were behind me when I took this photo.
