A wonderful capture here in particularly with this light. The dark broody skies also lends plenty of atmosphere. Well done.

Thanks, but give credit to the wonders of RAW processing, not to me. I initially rejected this shot because in the camera-generated .jpg it looked deadly dull and nothingy.

It was you who knelt there in the wet grass and composed this scene Howard! You cannot knock RAW processing. It is simply the raw negative with far more information than the artificial jpg's etc. Of course, since you have more material in there, you can then manipulate that far easier as in the case, possible with this, adjusting shadows etc. I take 100% RAW and now have no hesitation to adjust curves or use HDR where and when needed although I always strive to display things in the most natural way and as I witnessed it in the first instance. Fortunately perhaps for me, the vast majority of my captures for record purposes are almost unedited.

Thanks for sharing with both our UK Landscape Photography and The English Lake District groups, Herb

Thanks TOZ. One can no doubt get a similar result with any of the RAW processors, but I use PhotoMatix Pro because it has a set of presets, e.g. "Painterly", which are an ideal starting points for shots taken in dim or flat lighting lighting conditions. It struggles though with ones taken in harsh and high-contrast light.
