Leopard Slug (2) - 8 February 2018

Leopard Slug (2) - 8 February 2018
One of two Leopard Slug figures by Monster Chetwynd installed at the Millbank entrance to Tate Britain for its Winter Commission.

Photography in today's rain was a challenge and I used my compact zoom at its point and shootiest. I loved the slugs.

What's not to love? :-)
I love slugs, leopards and mock leopard fabrics (no matter how common they may be classed as by the bien pensants).
PS.The shiny wee things edging the leopard pattern, are they beads, faux pearls, or miniature xmas lights?
PPS. I love beads, faux pearls and, within reason, xmas lights (but not xmas).

They are lights and the explanation, on an accompanying placard, was interesting. When mating, usually at night, the leopard slug emit a blue glow. To quote exactly one section of the placard, "Alternative energy interests Chetwynd, and she is excited by the idea that light-emitting organisms may one day power street lights".
