Lion Dance String Puppet 3
The Lion Dance is always performed during the Chinese New Year and in Victoria, which has the oldest Chinatown in Canada, a Lion Dance Parade occurs. I missed the parade this year, but found the puppets!

This protective function is a common thread in many spiritual traditions, including shamanism, where animal spirits or totems are invoked for protection.
